Just Back From Summer Holidays......

at 8:46:53 AM Just Back From Summer Holidays
When you return to work from holidays or we make an employment change we often notice our body physically, either positively or negatively feeling change. This can be linked to the demands that workstation places have on our muscles and joints. The result can be Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). These conditions can affect the neck, shoulders, upper, lower back, wrist, and elbow joints and can cause damage to the tendons, muscles, nerves and soft tissue resulting in pain and weakness. This will reduce your productivity at work, but will also affect your ability to do other activities/sports.
To prevent this from occurring follow these simple 8 steps:
1. If you work on a computer all day at work, limit your time on the computer at home.
2. Use a good quality mouse that requires minimal pressure to click.
3. Use headsets to avoid awkward neck postures.
4. Adjust your chair to support your back and minimize awkward postures.
5. Keep your work, keyboard and mouse centered in front of the monitor and close to you.
6. A wrist pad on the keyboard allows you to rest your wrists on the pad to reduce stress.
7. Keep your eyes level within range on top of this screen.
8. Use ergonomic computer accessories to encourage neutral neck postures
If you have any concerns about your workstation and ergonomic set-up, call us today at 905-891-3474 or email us at info@advantagepcm.com.
